EXPLORE THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS

07:30. Pick up from the lobby of your hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Ninh Binh province which is located to the south of the Northern Delta, between the Red and Ma rivers.

09:30. Upon arrival at Tam Coc/ Three caves, known as Halong Bay on land, we will embark on a two-hour excursion by small boat along the Ngo Dong River, beginning at the village of Van Lam and proceeding through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. The route includes floating through Tam Coc - the three natural grottos (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), the largest of which is 125m long with its ceiling about 2m high above the water. The boats are typically rowed by one or two local women who also      
sell embroidered goods.

11:30. Returns to the dock and be transfered to the nearby site to visit to Bich Dong pagoda - a cave pagoda - which was built in the 15th century. There are 3 main pagodas here called Chua Ha, Chua Trung and Chua Thuong. We'll start a walking tour across a stone bridge and start hiking up the mountains on some stone steps, passing through the dark cave and we'll find ourselves on top of the mountains with private view of the surroundings.

12:30. Have lunch at a local restaurant

14:30. In the afternoon, continue our visit to Mua cave, one of the most beautiful place to enjoy panoramic views. You can see the city far from the standing in front of, Tam Coc in back and the limestone mountain along to the south of Vietnam. After climbing up 500 stone steps, you are on the top of the mountain where you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the countryside and wonderful Ngo Dong River.

Climb down the mountain and travel to your hotel in Ninh Binh for a check in. 

Spend the rest of your day on your own leisure. 

Overnight in Ninh Binh.

08:30 After breakfast, meet your private local guide at the hotel lobby and travel on your private vehicle to Pu Luong, a region with endless mountains, fertile valleys and pristine jungle.

Upon arrival, have a relaxing time and enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit to Ban Hieu (Hieu village), a Thai village located on the bank of the Hieu stream, which is originating from the Pu Luong peak, flowing tortuously across the village with hundred rooftops scattered along its both sides. Lying in the steep slopes of jagged mountains, Hieu village overviews stunning valleys with its natural waterfall running day & night.     

After an interesting time taking in the natural beauty and walking around the village, hop on your private vehicle and return to your hotel for a check in.

Overnight in Pu Luong.

08:30. In the morning, leave Puluong to Mai Chau, a beautiful valley inhabited by the Thai people in Hoa Binh province. This is an authentic hill tribe region and a fantastic base for treks and home stay adventures. 

Upon arrival, visit Lac village which you can explore by cycle or on foot, or you may prefer to wander along countryside lanes passing vegetable gardens, ponds and rice terraces; experience local daily life and the communities which rely on agricultural farming and livestock rearing.

In the afternoon, after lunch at a local homestay, transfer to your hotel for a check in.

Spend the afternoon time on your own leisure. Overnight in Mai Chau.

08:30. After breakfast, you will be picked up by car for your transfer to Mai Hich village.

Your excursion starts with a walk along the dirt trail through forests with tropical trees through local villages of the Thai ethnic minority in Mai Chau. The spectacular scenery gradually appears before you. Continue hiking to Buoc village, the one boasts idyllic rice fields dotted with tiny stilt-houses, a hanging bridge, and murmuring streams. Visit a Thai house, chat with the locals and discover their traditional culture and stilt house living environment.

Enjoy a home-hosted lunch before returning to Mai Chau by car.     

In the afternoon, cycle 02 kilometers to Chieu cave, a mysterious chamber used to be a place of prayer. The only way to tour this cave is by climbing a 1,200-step stone staircase to the magnificent cave with two chambers. The starting point of the staircase is right beside the giant and ancient Xa Pung tree. Inside Chieu Cave, it is quite flat and cool and impressive. You will be surprised by the pristine, shimmering and endless stalactite forests. The stalactites come in many shapes, sizes and colors that makes you feel like being transported back in time, to the vivid prehistoric area.

Return to the hotel on bicycle. Rest of the day and evening at your leisure.

Overnight in Mai Chau.

After breakfast, meet your private guide and vehicle then depart to Hanoi. Our trip will end after a drop off at your hotel in Hanoi.
