Ms Diep Nguyen

A true foodie, motorbike junky and love the local culture

Although having graduated from the National University of Economics, the all-embracing drive for Diep is travel and meeting people. It is too hard to answer the question ‘which is your favorite place?’ even after 20 years in the travel industry.  She loves riding from mountains down to the coast, meeting the locals, and chatting about culture over drinks and especially food. As a true foodie, Vietnam is a paradise of exquisitely fresh flavors with recipes handed down through generations.   Diep’s ‘claim to fame’ was assisting Chef Anthony Bourdain in 2016 for his TV program on Vietnamese cuisine, which is how she found herself eating bun cha with former President Obama!

A great pleasure of working with Indochina/Mekong Tours is she can share her passion for this unique and amazing region with clients. Nothing makes Diep happier than helping others love South East Asia as much as she does.

Ms Ruby Mac

When asked what she loves most about working in tourism, Ngoc, who goes by her English name Ruby, eagerly tells us about her passion of discovering new places, meeting a broad-spectrum of people along the way and encouraging them to share their stories. 

After graduating 20 years ago with a bachelor degree of Business Administration, Ruby has spent 16 years of her working life as a travel expert, skilled in building strong connections with, and creating travel memories for her clients. 

Travel is her first passion, and her second is collecting silver jewellery. She potters round flea markets and silver shops acquiring new and unique pieces. In fact, she combines the two by touring various handicraft villages to see the jewellery making process in action.  

Finally, Ruby is the proud mother of two handsome sons and hopes that they too will come to love the travel industry.

Ms Mayada Le

Binh loves the less conventional and the new, which are reasons she studied Arabic at the Vietnam National University of Languages and International Studies in Hanoi; incidentally, at work she goes by the name Mayada, a name given to her by her Egyptian university lecturer. She was also able to study abroad, and over the years got the ‘travel bug’, eager to discover the world. This led her on a journey to becoming a travel expert. 

Through an understanding of local cultures and a knack of really getting to grips with what travellers, allows Binh (Mayada) to creatively work with her clients from around the world and to explore imaginative ways of designing tours.

Ms Trang Bui

Looking back on our lives its often surprising how we have changed over the years. If, for example, someone had told the shy and very introvert teenage Trang she would be a tour operator in her adult life connecting with clients from all over the world, she would never have believed them. However, at university - where she studied Travel & Tourism Service Management - she found a confidence she didn’t know she had and it also sparked her curiosity about the world.  

Trang is now an avid traveller, relishing the invaluable experiences gained. She also wishes everyone has the chance to travel and explore the adventures the world offers. As a tour operator she brings great insight and her excitement when exploring new countries and cultures bubbles over into her job, eager that people travel not just to sightsee but to explore their journey of self-discovery and self-fulfilment.

Mr Tung John

Tung, who goes by the name Tung John, studied Hospitality and Tourism at Thuong Mai University in Hanoi. His first job was in hospitality and transport – a solid foundation for working with the general public - when he worked as Marketing Executive in the Quang Ninh Bus and Boat Station One Member Co., Ltd. From there, he took a job with Vietnam’s major FLC Group as a Marketing Team Leader for their resort complex project in Sam Son, which turned out to be his first step on the tourism career ladder.  Now, he works as Crystal Holiday’s Corporate Sales & Marketing Manager and relishes the opportunities to link his work with travel. He himself loves taking road trips exploring places that are new to him. And he hopes that when his two young children are old enough they can also share memorable travel moments with him and his wife and explore Vietnam as a family.

Mr Hoang Do

Hoang loves the hi-tech world; it’s his main hobby, making him particularly suited for the digital marketing world. He considers himself fortunate - it is not often one can say ‘my work is my hobby’ and vice versa. He graduated with a masters degree in Marketing & Prospective (a joint training program in Hanoi with the University of Nantes, France), before starting to work in digital marketing. He joined the travel industry by accident when his previous employer had a start up in the tourism field. Hoang came to love the actual content of his job and decided to move deeper into the industry. He is now Crystal’s administrator of digital channels and social networks and relishes the opportunity to build the company's website and oversee all the media social marketing.

Ms Stella Ciorra

Stella, a Brit, fell in love with Vietnam traveling from Hanoi to Saigon in 1995 on a small group adventure tour. Once back in the UK she couldn’t shake the feeling that Vietnam was her spiritual home. She vowed to return and for many years now she has worked in Hanoi’s travel & tourism industry. Her particular interest is to really get beneath the surface and explore the culture at a deeper level. As an aside this led her to volunteer with Friends of Vietnam Heritage, a leading cultural and educational society in Hanoi, which deepens the Vietnamese and international communities’ appreciation of Vietnamese heritage. She supports Crystal Holidays/Mekong/Indochina tours with English consultancy and travel writing, and loves the chance to spread the cultural travel bug to others eager to discover this very special destination.
